NUST Admission Guidance:
Many fellows are asking which field should they choose. So here I have given a complete explanation of admissions from merit positions to the preferences.
As we all know, last night NUST announced the merit positions. You can understand merit positions as your class positions, the student with the maximum marks would stand first and one with the lowest marks would stand last. So low merit positions are better. With the merit positions, nust has also given a list of closing merits from last year to let you know that in which department you can get admission in. Now Nust has given a deadline till 4th August to change the preferences to one you desire by logging in your credentials on the nust site. This is because for example if you first wanted to get admission in cs but according to the list of your last year you are not eligible for that than you can change it. Now PLEASE only choose that field that you are lying in as per the last year merit list.
Now as far as choosing the profession is concerned, many fellows are just trying to get admission in the Islamabad campus no matter in which field they get admission in. THIS IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER. You won't spend your whole life in nust, buildings won't make your future. Go for the field you are interested in, leave what your friends are saying, leave what your relatives are saying, opt the field that is your dream, discuss it with your parents and go for it. Make the aim to be the best in the field you are in, no matter what the scope is, no matter what people are saying. If you are interested in software go for software, if you are interested in electrical go for electrical if you're interested in mechanical go for mechanical even if it is in Rawalpindi or anyother campus. Nobody will ask you in the future that from which campus you have studied, you are student of nust and that's what important.
